"WHAT POISON ARE YOU ON?!?" by Randy Burton

My recent failed trip to Peace River has me really asking... What Poison Are You On? ...by Randy Burton

I have seen lots of junkies and messed up people on all kinds of shit that guys make with hazardous household chemicals in garages and sheds all over our fine province.

I have seen a lot of shifting eyes covetting our equipment as we set up and tear down.

I have seen (thankfully not a lot of...) stern white faces with eyes filled with rage at the sight of five strangers in town...strangers with two proud men of foriegn decent.

I have been accused of intent to steal someones beer as i waited in line at a liquor store to ask the clerk directions to a local music store.

I have been asked if i have had any drugs to sell on so many occasions..it may be a good way to subsidize my musical aspirations...

I have stayed in a few places that i would never have even considered staying or sending my worst enemies to stay at.

....When all this shit comes at you within two hours of arriving at your destination...Would you wanna stay there? Do you wanna entertain? Is anyone really gonna( or capable to) listen? ...

we drove 9 hours there...and 9 hours to get the fuck outta there as fast as we could...

Peace River Needs an Enema!!!! and for all of your efforts to make us feel as uncomfortable as humanly possible..

We Salute You With Much Flatulence!!!!!!

I would like to invite our northern Alberta fans to rock and party with us when we come back to Grande Prairie...in January2008....

"TO....ERR....IS HUMAN.....JUST DEAL WITH IT" by Randy Burton

This blog is dedicated to a young, go-getter, entertainment scout for a profitable casino in my hometown... We invited him to one of our shows @ Morgan's in Oct. 07 to see if we could work at the casino he represented...he had a blast...stayed all nite watched and rocked with us for all three of our sets when he originally was only gonna catch one set. He had to have us at the casino...he saw us live...he knew what kinda show we did...and he obviously thought it would go over at the casino... so he booked us for the casino in January...

We were to play three nights... 7-11pm...we set up and soundchecked...and proceeded to play...the silly casino had the card tables right outside of the pub area which had no doors so it was wide open to the gaming floor...after a couple volume issues our PA was turned down as far as it could go without totally losing our vocal presence. The rest of the first nite went good after dealing with the volume..i am sure it sounded terrible in the bar...with the mix so flat...

*NEWS FLASH* you cannot turn down live drums...our drummer really held back though...

So we show up for the second nite and start to play...this time all these suits kept milling around pouting and gesturing at the band, including the clown that booked us here in the first place...which by the way is so ignorant at least wait til the band stops to address your issues...this treatment and bad attitude persisted all evening until a lady in a red dress along with her two security personell showed up right as we concluded our performance...and told us to pack up...well we had about enough of this so we packed up our shit...and left...the guy that booked us did not show his face unless we were in mid-song...otherwise he hid in his little office...passing us notes or calling our manager and leaving belligerent messages threatening not to pay us for the first two nites of our contract. See ya in court!

You booked us, you saw us, you knew what we were doing, you screwed up not us, you had to be the big shot, we made the mistake of showing up...but we have honour... unlike yourself.

I expect to be screwed over by a shady club owner( which has not happened recently actually)...but a reputable casino???...fighting with a band over "pocket change" considering what those casinos take daily.... Come on

"OFFENDED VIEWERS" by Melody Park

It has been brought to our attention from email and other sources that some of our news stories, blogs, general commentary about the real life struggles of Melody Park has offended some people. We have ruffled some feathers and pushed some buttons. Apparently our news/blogs have cost us gigs because we are to outspoken and bitter sounding. Well,...to all those people we have accidently offended,.....we sincerely apologize.

Now,...if you have a problem reading news/blogs about Melody Park, their struggles, the ugly side of life, or swearing.......kindly

!@! @! <----[censored version Wink ]

We are a group of honest, hard-working and determined people who are just trying to carve out a space on the planet. We always please the patrons of any club or venue with our music and the show. We interact with the audience and draw them in. However,...Melody Park has struggles like anyone else and this is our place to tell friends and fans what is happening to us. No holds barred! The truth....and the ugly truth. Peace.

Once again,....we apologize for this out-burst and hope we have not tempted you to read something that might have offended you.

(This has been a public service announcement on behalf of Melody Park)
